5:00 PM - 9:00 PM	DEEP Safe Boating Course - CT DEEP Boating course PLEASE REGISTER WITH DEEP BEFORE USING THIS PAGE TO PAY THE FEE TO ENSURE CLASS REGISTRATION.This class is offered in 2 evenings, April 6 and April 8, from 5p -9p in Kobylenski Lodge at Camp Coch.  You must attend both classes. A $25 fee is payable at the Recreation Department in advance, online below, or the day of with cash or check, payable to Town of Goshen. Successful completion of the class qualifies a person to purchase for $50 their Certificate of Personal Watercraft Operation (CPWO) on the Online Sportsmen Licensing System. The CPWO allows an individual to operate any recreational vessel up to 65ft. including a personal watercraft. Please check age restrictions for operating vessels with engines greater than 10 horsepower, personal watercraft, and waterskiing. This class includes the Safe Waterski Endorsement. These classes are a total of 8 hours long and include a proctored exam which will be administered and graded at the end of the class.. Register through the CT DEEP Sportsmen Event Management System linked HEREYou will need to log in or create an account, then scroll down to Goshen and register for the April classes.  Please call if you need assistance.The Connecticut Boating Course is mandated by the State of Connecticut for anyone over the age of 10 to operate watercraft.Safe Boating Certificates are valid for life.

3:45 PM - 4:45 PM	3rd - 5th grade Field Hockey - 2026 Spring Field Hockey Learn the basics and fundamentals of field hockey with Coaches Colleen, Rita and Michaela on Mondays at the GCS field, after school until 4:45pm.  Girls will learn stick and ball work, rules, and play in program games. Players will need their own water bottle, and stick.  Cleats are preferred, eye guards are recommended.  $10 fee to play. If you need equipment please see the sports exchange area by the Recreation Office in Town Hall or call Erin.  Each player will get a mouth guard, shin guards and socks.

2:00 PM - 4:00 PM	Bunco! for beginners - BUNCO for beginners We are bonkers for BUNCO!We like to call this event BUNCO for beginners.  This group is mostly beginners to novice players enjoying a fun Saturday morning together.  No high stakes, just laughter and friendship.  Come play at Kobylenski Lodge on the first Saturday of each month (excluding July and August) from 2p-4p!Bring your family, bring your friends, bring your neighbors, and bring a smile! Bunco is played with four or more players, divided into groups of four, trying to score points while taking turns rolling three dice in a series of six rounds. A Bunco is achieved when a person rolls three-of-a-kind and all three numbers match the round number. Snacks provided and a prize for each table.  Donations welcome.

Discussion topics include: Important facts about the effects of medication on driving. How to reduce driver distractions. How to maintain the proper following distance behind another car. Proper use of safety belts, air bags, anti-lock brakes and new technology found in cars today. Techniques for handling left turns, right-of-way, and roundabouts. Age-related physical changes and how to adjust your driving to compensate. Kobylenski Lodge at Camp Coch, 291 Beach Street, Tuesday, May 5, 2026  9:00am-1:00pm.
