LAST WEEK OF CAMP IS IN SESSION...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We are very excited to announce that we will be running Camp Coch Summer Day Camp that will be known this summer as Camp Coch 2.0!  As awesome as it is that we’ll be having summer camp, it does come with some extreme changes to our camp set up to be able to follow all the State of CT and OEC (Office of Early Childhood) guidelines for youth camps.

During these extenuating circumstances we are providing this service and opportunity to our community to be able to send your children to our camp with the understanding that you are taking a risk by registering for any summer camp this year.  We have been preparing for camp with many of the guidelines that the OEC and State of CT have put forth to make sure that all campers and staff stay safe and healthy, but that does not guarantee anyone not coming down with symptoms.

For those of you who know our traditional summer camp, where we rotate between areas such as Wilderness, Sports, Programs, My Time, Arts and Crafts and swim lessons, we will not be able to have that opportunity under these guidelines.  Counselors will have to stay with the same group the entire day to limit the exposure between campers in other groups.  Groups will not be able to mingle during lunch or free swims.  BUT our Counselors are excited to come up with creative and fun activities for your campers to still be able to experience.  Even though it will not be the same format as it has been in the past, we are planning on having a fun filled summer!

We just got approved for 56 campers to be split into 4 groups of 14 from the OEC.

At this time, we will only be allowing Goshen residents to register for summer camp, but non-Goshen Residents can get on the waiting list until June 17th.  After June 17th, it will be open registration for all residents.

Some other major changes for our Camp Coch 2.0:
  • No preschool program
  • No Teen Adventure Camp
  • No before or after camp
  • No swim lessons BUT 2 free swim opportunities during the day
  • Combined age groups (ex: K and 1st grade together)
  • Staggered arrival and departure times for groups
  • Parents will not be allowed to come out the vehicles at drop off and pick up
  • Campers will undergo a screening before they exit the vehicle at drop off
    • This will include their temperature being taken
    • Each parent/camper will also be asked a series of questions including if they have been recently exposed to someone with Covid 19 and if the camper or any immediate family members are experiencing a high fever, cough or respiratory distress.
    • Campers who answer yes to these questions and who have a fever of 100 or higher will not be allowed in the program that day.  (Per OEC guidelines in Revised Memo #18)
  • 2 Counselors per group of 14 campers that will stay with the group the entire day.
    • We are not offering our JRCIT and CIT program this summer.
    • The Counselors will be implementing fun camp activities that will also incorporate social distancing.
    • All staff will be wearing masks while with their group.
  • Protocols will be put into place IF a child or staff member becomes sick during camp and what will happen during the camp day and for the rest of the week.  Protocols will be followed in guidance from the Office of Early Childhood.
We’re planning on providing a SAFE environment for your campers BUT bring the FUN as well!!  Because what’s summer camp without the FUN!!  BUT some of the “fun” your camper is used to, will just look a little differently so that we can follow the State and OEC guidelines.  We encourage you to discuss some of the changes with your camper before registering for Camp Coch.

Open registration for Goshen Residents and Non-Goshen Residents starting June 17, 2020.

We hope everyone is staying healthy and safe!  Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns during work hours.
Thank you.

REGISTRATION INFO
  • Each group will be split into 4 groups of 14 once all the groups are registered. Not knowing the number situation for each grade/group, this will be the easiest way to be able to accept as many campers as possible. With 2 different drop off times, your camper may be in different times different weeks depending on the number of campers in certain grades. We know that this may be an inconvenience, but it will be the best way to ensure that none of the groups are crossing paths at drop off and pick up. Thank you for your patience during this time.
  • Click the link below to read more on the updated policies and protocols including refunds for Camp Coch 2.0
  • Refund Policy: The service the Town is providing by having summer camp is coming at a net loss, therefore there is a no refund policy still in place due to any cancellations of camp.

* Adjustments and discounts will be applied during checkout if applicable. *
